In a new interview, Lisa Vanderpump is teasing the upcoming season of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and she reveals that the drama tested her relationship with long-time bestie Kyle Richards. Are the ladies at war or did they repair their friendship?
According to AllThingsRH, the restaurant owner says this season was tumultuous; and even though she normally keeps her cool, there was a day that she lost it.
Richards says she couldn’t believe the dramatic moment when Vanderpump drove away in tears. “I was like, ‘OK, Alexis Carrington, got it. It was so out of character for her to let her guard down like that, that’s why my mouth was literally hanging open.”
Vanderpump revealed that she does have moments where she questions her sanity, and she did flip her lid a bit. She defends her actions by saying she has done over 300 shows, and she rarely loses her mind, but sometimes things just get a little heated.
We don’t know yet what triggered this moment from Vanderpump, so fans will just have to wait and watch to find out.
Vanderpump says that the dynamic between her and Richards changed this season, and like any relationship, it’s going to have its problems. But, they have been able to make it through their struggles, and that supersedes the negativity.
Richards says that the two remain very close and she couldn’t do the show without her best friend. Lisa Vanderpump adds that they are the backbone of the show, the only remaining original cast members, and their friendship is strong and authentic.

In addition to starring in Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, the 57-year-old also stars in the Bravo spinoff Vanderpump Rules, and she says doing both shows can be extraordinarily challenging. However, the shows have given her an incredible platform, and she has been able to achieve things like opening a dog rescue center and draw attention to LGBTQ issues.
Per US Weekly, Vanderpump also admitted that she tried to be there for newest cast member Teddi Mellencamp even though not everyone got along with her. She added that it is not easy being the new girl in a group of strong women, and when you speak your mind it’s not always what people want to hear.
Lisa Vanderpump’s tagline for this season is “the queen of diamonds always has an ace up her sleeve,” and you can watch her and castmates Richards, Mellencamp, Erika Girardi, Dorit Kemsley, and Lisa Rinna Tuesday nights on Bravo.
