Nicole Eggert has claimed that Scott Baio sexually abused her when she was a child working on the hit show Charles in Charge and filed a police report with her attorney Lisa Bloom. A second police report was filed by actor Alexander Polinsky who also appeared on the television show.
Polinksy alleged sexual harassment and child abuse. According to Lisa Bloom, she gave the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) a witness list when the reports were filed. The investigation is currently underway and it’s unclear whether Scott Baio will face criminal charges.
Baio denies the allegations against him, though he says he did have sex with Nicole Eggert, it occurred after he was her director and after she had turned at least 18-years-old.
Lisa Bloom and Nicole Eggert appeared on Good Day L.A. where they discussed the allegations, status of the case, and how difficult it has been for Nicole to come forward with her story.
During a live press conference, Lisa Bloom not only praised Nicole Eggert for her bravery in coming forward, but also praised Alexander Polinsky for not leaving Nicole alone, but sharing his story. In the interview below, Lisa Bloom continued to encourage people who have witnessed Scott Baio’s alleged sexual abuse, harassment, and other forms of abuse to step forward and speak up.
Nicole Eggert addressed the issue of being abused at 14 and how it confused her throughout her teen years and even as an adult. She also expressed that if Scott Baio’s defense was accurate and they had sex when she was 18 or 0ver, that the idea of her former director who worked with her as a teen having sex with her should give off red flags.
When Nicole Eggert first began to speak out, Scott Baio issued her a cease and desist. He then challenged her to go to the police if she had a real claim. Not only did Nicole Eggert go to the LAPD and file a police report, but Alexander Polinsky told his story to authorities as well.
Now, Lisa Bloom is encouraging other people to show bravery such as Alexander Polinsky showed and speak out about what they saw, witnessed, heard, and even tell their own stories of abuse if they have one.
Scott Baio has denied the allegations and has threatened to sue Nicole Eggert and Alexander Polinsky.
(Charisse Van Horn and Alexander Polinsky personally follow each other on Twitter and have spoken to each other in the past, but not about the Scott Baio case. She has also tweeted in the past messages of support for Nicole Eggert to come forward and tell her story. She does her best to be fair and balanced and present all sides of the case. Scott Baio denies all allegations of child abuse against him.)
