The former child actress has something pretty controversial to say about the #MeToo movement. During a brand new interview with Lindsay Lohan for The Times, the star insisted that she has never really gone through any harassment in her career.
‘I cannot speak on something I do not live, right? Look, I’m very supportive of women. Everybody goes through their own experiences in their own ways,’ she told the outlet.
But that is not all! Lohan also believes a lot of the #MeToo victims who speak up about their experiences are ‘attention-seekers.’
She also thinks harassment is something that should be dealt with when it takes place.
‘If it happens at that moment, you discuss it at that moment. You make it a real thing by making it into a police report. I am going to really hate myself for saying this, but I think women speaking against these things, it makes them seem weak when they’re very strong women. You have these girls who come out, who do not even know who they are, who do it just for the attention. That’s taking away from the fact that it happened,’ Lohan told the publication.
Lindsay Lohan has talked about the sexual harassment issue in Hollywood before as well.
In October of last year, the actress caused a lot of controversy when she defended Harvey Weinstein!
‘I feel very bad for Harvey Weinstein right now. I don’t think it’s right what’s going on,’ she said in a video on Instagram, now deleted.
She went on to talk about his estranged wife, saying: ‘I think Georgina needs to take a stand and be there for her husband. He has never harmed me or done anything wrong to me, and we’ve done several movies together. So, I think everyone needs to stop. I think it’s wrong. So stand up.’
