Most likely, Leonardo DiCaprio is used to all the paparazzis following him everywhere and having to disguise himself in order to stroll undisturbed through the city. But we bet he wasn’t used to people not recognizing him on the street! Apparently this is what happened on Friday, when he was taking a walk in town and helped an elderly couple find their way through the Big Apple.
The couple stopped the 41-year-old actor next to the Hudson River to ask him for some help. They did not suspect anything, and the actor kindly explained them where they needed to head. He used a phone to point at the map and to explain the tourists what is the best route for them, just like a true New Yorker would.
While going out, he was dressed casually, with a newsboy flat cap and big sunglasses that helped him go incognito. For walking his dog in the park, the actor chose some beige shorts and a grey marl T-shirt that matched his tan.
In downown he met with Richie Akiva, the owner of 10ak and Up and Down clubs, as we walked his pet. This happened before he helped the elderly couple.
Besides helping people in New York, DiCaprio is currently producing and starring in a climate change documentary. The globetrotting production Before the Flood is made by Fisher Stevens and it will air on October 30 on National Geographic Channel.
At the same time, his personal life seems to be flourishing, since the actor has been dating Nina Agdal, aged 24, for around four months. In a funny turn of events, Lona, Nina’s grandmother, declared for Daily Mail that DiCaprio will have to get her to deal with if he ever breaks her granddaughter’s heart. It remains to be seen whether the actor will be scared by this or not.
