The actress opened up about the ‘best and worst part of having George Clooney as a lover on Roseanne.’ Here’s what Laurie Metcalf, 62, had to say!
While on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen’s After Show, Metcalf did not hold anything back while answering this question.
‘Well, the best was the season we got to do together, alluding to us having a romantic relationship. It was the best, that was fun,’ she said about working together with the heartthrob during the first season of the show.
The not that good part of the two playing each other’s love interests was, according to the star that it ended.
‘And the worst, the worst was when for some reason he did not come back after season 1. Whatever happened to George?’ the Roseanne actress shared.
As you may be aware, the Hollywood star appeared on the sitcom back in 1988 in the role of Booker Brooks.
His character was a foreman at Roseanne workplace, and the love interest of Jackie, Metcalf’s character.
When they decided to produce a reboot of the show, Clooney was not willing to reprise his role.
Roseanne Barr, the sitcom’s titular star explained not too long ago while on Howard Stern’s SiriusXM’s radio show that he wasn’t interested at all in the reunion.
‘Well, George Clooney did not want to come on – so that was a bummer, but he lives in Italy. He has said some really silly things about me, but I still love him,’ the woman told the radio host.
The reboot’s first season aired its last episode this week and a second installment has already been confirmed!
Barr said that she plans to get a lot of big names to guest star on season 2.
‘We are gonna hit ’em all up. We are gonna go hard on big stars ’cause you know, Roseanne drives an Uber. So I am going to try to get a lot of stars on as passengers.’
