After Lady Gaga released an album in 2013, called ARTPOP, she confessed to her fans that she was taking daily medication in order to deal with her mental illnesses issues. This has stirred a lot of shock among her fans, since they were not expecting to find out such details about the beloved singer.
Recently she got back in the industry by releasing a successful single called Perfect Illusion. Right after the release, Gaga declared that she is still on medication to help her mental state. She declared for Daily Mirror that after her career took off, she was really confused. She even says that she does not remember much from the beginning of her career and that she needed to take some time off to “recalibrate her soul”.
However, she is not blaming fame for her state, on the contrary, she sees it as a blessing and a crowning of her artistic career. This doesn’t mean that she quit taking care of her health behind the scenes and trying to get rid of the pesky mental issues she has.
She talked openly about the issues she has with anti-depressants and mood stabilizers, though she acknowledged she wouldn’t advise young people to take them unless they can’t do it otherwise. Moreover, she admitted that she fought depression and anxiety and said that she’s aware many people are currently battling them.
She said that the her latest record reflects many personal things that happened to her, including betrayals from “all types of people” in her life. She admits that she put a lot of rage on the album and that the lyrics and the music mean a lot to her. Moreover, she hinted to the fact that the song is also based on her previous relationship with Taylor Kinney.
