Lady Gaga recently took to social media to accuse Donald Trump and the rest of his administration of being driven by ignorance and hatred, especially in the case of the transgender and larger LGBT community.
Following the reports that the Donald Trump administration is solidifying what critics call, “a biologically deterministic view of gender and biological sex,” Lady Gaga took to Twitter to make her comments.
As it was previously reported, Donald’s administration wants to redefine gender as a “biological, immutable condition determined by genitalia at birth,” which is the popular conception held by the American public.
However, critics argue that gender and biological sex are merely social constructions, having a lot more to do with cultural norms and conventions, rather than science.
On Monday, the “Born This Way” star said on Twitter that the government living today “lives in an alternate universe,” adding that it’s imperative for those in the LGBT community to stand together in the face of ignorance. Incidentally, some online accused Lady Gaga of being the one who lives in an “alternate universe” for her comments on gender.

“Know that this is not the reality of humanity,” the pop star urged. Lady Gaga then linked a documentary created by CBS called, Gender: The Space Between, which seeks to educate the populace about gender identity and expression.
Critics of the Trump administration argue that the problem with his legislation is that it would thwart non-binary individuals’ attempt at defining who they really are, thus, creating all kinds of problems, from identifying themselves on passports, applying for apartments, jobs, and much more.
Trump’s idea is to require genetic testing as well to determine the biological sex of an individual. As a result, hundreds of people demonstrated against Trump’s administration in the Washington Square Park of New York.
Trans people have also taken to Twitter to post pictures themselves along with the hashtag, #WontBeErased. As fans of Lady Gaga know, she is heralded as a champion of LGBT rights and frequently criticizes the current political administration.
