Lady Gaga had to be hospitalized, and as a result, she canceled her show at Rock in Rio in Brazil. The superstar took to social media today to announce the sad news that she had no choice but be an absentee from the annual music festival due to severe pain.
‘I was taken to the hospital, it’s not simply hip pain or wear and tear from the road, I’m in severe pain. But am now in good hands with the very best doctors. Please do not forget my love for you. 🙏 Remember years ago when I tattooed Rio on my neck, the tattoo was written by children in the favelas. 🇧🇷R✝️O You hold a special place in my heart I love you,’ Gaga wrote in the caption of a photo showcasing the tattoo she mentioned.
She also posted another pic showing her arm with an IV and explained in the caption how ‘devastated‘ she was to not be able to be at Rock in Rio.
She went on to humbly apologize and promised that she’d come back again very soon,
Aside from her very personal social media posts, a rep for the artist also released a more official sounding explanation of the reason why she canceled her show.
On Tuesday, Lady Gaga opened about her chronic pain called Fibromyalgia and talked about how she wishes to raise more awareness about it through her documentary.
The singer also postponed her Montreal concert, part of her world tour, after she got too sick to sing live.
Her documentary, Gaga: Five Foot Two, is set to be released later this month on Netflix.
