Before the launch of Kylie Cosmetics, Mac was the heavyweight beauty business that boosted most of their sales by using the likeness of a popular celebrity. Now that Kylie Jenner has taken the beauty industry by storm with her line, she has major competition — and we’re not talking about her older sister Kim Kardashian.
Everyone knows that the Jenner clan hasn’t had the best year when it comes to their public image. The two have been rightly accused of appropriation, tone deafness, and almost everything else under the sun.
The younger siblings are rapidly losing fans. The fact that Kylie keeps lying about not having surgery isn’t helping her how she’s perceived in a time where social media is becoming increasingly woke and encouraging people of all races and sizes to accept their natural selves.
When Kim Kardashian released KKW Beauty, it made a decent amount of noise but many fans and makeup gurus aren’t blown away by the things that were presented — not to mention that Mrs. West has also had a hard year with media attention.
Months ago, it was announced that Bajan babe and pop queen Rihanna was dropping her own collection. Now that the long awaited venture is slated to be released in a few hours online and in Sephora stores, Kylie is allegedly shaking in her boots.

An insider stated: “Kylie is terrified that Rihanna is going to take her spot. Compared to Rih-Rih, Kylie has no talents other than being a heavy hitter in the makeup game and posting hot pictures.”
Rihanna’s line is very versatile and is at the lower end of the normal price point for products in the same industry. The #Rihannanavy is glad to have someone that they will be able to relate to more than Kylie to support.
The “Love On the Brain” artist is a humanitarian that sings and acts, that may be why the same crowd that Kylie attracts is on standby to flock to Rihanna’s new line in addition to people who aren’t on #teamKylie.
Do you think Fenty Beauty will outsell Kylie cosmetics?
