Kylie Jenner is in a lot of trouble and she risks a lawsuit for copying another person’s ideas, again. Good thing she is filthy rich already.
Kylie Cosmetics has been called out by makeup artist Vlada Haggerty for simply copying her makeup looks and pictures and using them to make millions. Not original after all, but very profiting!
Therefore, it comes as no surprise that the Los Angeles based makeup artist along with her photographer, Julia Kuzmenko McKim are planning to sue the 19 year old and settle the long feud in court once and for all. Will they go through with it? If so, they might have quite a case.
The reality TV star made public her new holiday makeup campaign by posting a picture with an insane resemblance to the one of Haggerty and McKim.
The makeup artist immediately attacked Kylie for her blatant stealing on Instagram, accusing her for always taking “inspiration” from her.
“Really @kyliecosmetics? Haven’t you gotten enough ‘inspiration’ from me already? Left is a the work @juliakuzmenko, @brittrafuson and I shot a few months ago and right is @kyliecosmetics new campaign.”
This is not the first time Kylie is accused of stealing or taking inspiration a little bit too much from someone. It has been reported that Kylie was also accused of posting one of Vada’s own images on the Kylie Cosmetics Instagram page, without giving her any credit.
She clearly admires the makeup artist’s work a lot but she should learn that stealing is not right. She did later on update the picture with the makeup artist’s handle but eventually deleted it because of the backlash she received.
Although the two pictures are undeniably similar, at this point it is hard to say if Haggerty would have a case in court, as ideas are, unfortunately for the artist, not legally protected.
