Although the reality TV star is a mother of three and she absolutely loves it now, there was a period in her life when she was not so sure she was ready to have a baby. Kim Kardashian revealed in a new piece for Wealthsimple how exactly motherhood had changed her reality.
The KUWK celeb even admitted that when she first learned that she was pregnant with North, she was convinced her life ‘was over.’
‘My mom had me at 23 or 24 – she had my sister at 22. My dad was a bit older – he was around 36 when he had me. But I thought they knew everything. Before I had kids, I remember thinking ‘Wow, they had it so together. Am I ready?’ But you are never ready. I say that to all my friends. Me in my 30s, Kanye [West] was in his 30s, and I am like If we are not ready now… I mean, this is pathetic.’
‘So we are going for it. And it just happened – I was so, so freaked out. I thought my life was over. I was just so not a parent. I literally thought my life was over,’ Kim said.
Aside from that, she also talked about everything she learned about money in her childhood that later helped her grow into an ambitious and driven adult.
‘They [my parents] never gave me money for rent or anything. Nothing. I always was working. I never asked people for money. That was never really my thing. I always just figured it out. The way my parents taught me was, hey, when you are 18, you have seen this lifestyle, I’m sure you are going to want to upkeep it. If you are going to want to live this way, you are going to have to get a job.’
‘I do not know if it will be the same for my kids. It is a different time. I don’t know if I am going to do that. I would have to discuss that with Kanye,’ she said about the possibility of using the same humbling parenting method on her own kids.
