KUWK: Kendall Jenner Gets Candid About Her ‘Debilitating’ Battle With Acne Despite Backlash
The supermodel is getting candid about her longtime struggle with acne. Earlier today, Kendall Jenner took to social media to post a lengthy message about her emotional experience.
Amid a lot of backlash, the Jenner sister acknowledged that there are ‘much bigger problems happening in the world,’ but she insisted that her struggle with acne could sometimes be ‘debilitating’ for her.
‘It’s something that I’ve dealt with since I was a young teen and has caused me to feel anxious, helpless and insecure,’ she wrote.
Of course, from the outside, her life may seem without any worries, but instead of only sharing the good parts of online, Kendall wants to show young people that ‘not everything is perfect’ no matter who you are or how many followers you have.
The model wants to change that perception, so the teens and young adults don’t have unrealistic expectations for their own lives.
‘As humans, I don’t think we share our insecurities enough because we live in a time where being ‘perfect’ is the standard. We curate our life online and pick the pretty moments to post,’ Kendall went on to write in her public letter.
Besides, there is always a silver lining and for her, dealing with the anxiety caused by her acne, it was developing really ‘tough skin’ that helped her survive in the modeling industry.
But even though it has taught her a lot, Kendall made it very clear that she would not wish that feeling on anyone.
‘I was 13 and ran home crying every day because people would stare at my skin,’ Kendall wrote alongside a couple of pics from when she was younger, doing the #10YearChallenge.
Nowadays, she claims that she uses Proactiv as a way to keep her flawless skin acne-free.
