Kris Jenner opened up about something which he has never discussed before: Kim Kardashian’s infamous sex tape. In an interview with Fox News’ latest production, OBJECTified, Kris talked about how she cheated on her first husband as well as her daughter’s tape with the rapper, Ray J.
In the promotional clip for the latest episode, the reporter asks the reality star if her sex tape had something to do with their family’s success on television.
Jenner explained that, while she can’t control what other people think and say about her and her family, she ultimately learned “that is that you can get through anything as a family.”
It was a “real hard time” for her to be a mother and would be for any mom out there. “It was devastating,” the Keeping Up With The Kardashian star remarked.
As fans of the Kardashians know, the sex tape, made in 2003, was leaked in February 2007. And Kim filed a lawsuit against the company who distributed it, Vivid Entertainment.
She went on to drop the lawsuit against the media company, and instead, chose to settle for $5 million. And in October 2007, the family started their show featuring all of her sisters as well as her father, Kris, Kim, Bruce (Caitlyn), Rob, Kendall, Khloe, Kourtney, and Kylie Jenner.
The series went on to become very successful for the network E!, and led to the creation of many different spin-offs including Kourtney and Kim Take New York, and Rob And Chyna, among others.
Over the course of the next ten years, the Kardashians became a household name, creating makeup products and other merchandise. Kylie Jenner, the girlfriend of rapper, Travis Scott, recently made her way on to the cover of Forbes Magazine for being a young, “self-made,” woman, on her way to becoming a billionaire.
However, many on social media have taken issue with their use of the term “self-made,” due to the Kardashian brand created primarily by Kris and Kim.
