Maxim magazine has released its coveted Hot 100 list for this year, and Kourtney Kardashian was the only one of the Kardashian-Jenner daughters not to make it. Now, Radar Online is reporting that the 39-year-old is not happy about being left out because she believes she is a “huge star.”
“Kourtney just doesn’t understand how Maxim could leave her off the list, but let sisters Kim, Khloe, Kendall and Kylie on,” said an insider.
The source goes on to say that Kourtney is baffled because she has been famous longer than Kendall and Kylie. Keeping Up With the Kardashians fans know that Kourtney has done everything she can to stay relevant since her split from Scott Disick, including posting hot daily selfies and finding a much younger boyfriend. And, apparently, she thinks the Maxim diss is Kris Jenner’s fault.
Insiders say Kourtney blames her 62-year-old mother for not helping her start her own business like she did for all of her sisters, but she also blames herself for thinking she is such a big deal.
Without her own company, Kourtney has found other ways to keep busy, including promoting a drink called “detox water,” which she claims is her go-to healthy drink. She consistently promotes an organic, natural diet with an emphasis on staying hydrated. But, instead of drinking plain water, Kourtney recommends this special mix that includes ingredients which will help her drink more throughout the day, speed up her metabolism, and detoxify her body.
Kourtney says the “detox water” is a big part of her “wellness regimen,” and she keeps big pitchers filled at home. She also says that studies have shown that drinking 8 to 12 ounces of lemon-infused water each morning helps jump-start your metabolism and helps your body detox. Also, mint and ginger help you keep a strong immune system, so she makes her special water that tastes so good she drinks more during the day.
Her “detox water” recipe includes water, half of a cucumber, half of a lemon, a whole lime, fresh ginger root, 10 to 12 fresh mint leaves, and just a pinch of Himalayan salt.
But experts say that even though it may taste good, plain water also does the trick. Tara Condell, a New York dietician and nutritionist, says that making Kourtney’s detox recipe isn’t really worth the trouble. She says that the reality star encouraging people to drink more water is a good thing, but there is no quick fix when it comes to detox.
Condell explains that the only way to detox your body is to drink water, eat fiber, and get a good night’s sleep. Then she says your liver – your “detox powerhouse” – can “do all the dirty work.”
Kourtney Kardashian’s drink recipe does keep you hydrated, but Condell says plain water is the best thing anyone can drink. But, if her water tastes good and encourages people to drink more, then she may be onto something.
