Game Of Thrones is arguably the hottest show on television right now and has been for the past few years. It has permanently changed the way we look at TV series now, however, for Kit Harrington, it has even more of a special significance.
The 31-year-old actor spoke on how the series changed his life and career ever since he started playing Jon Snow in 2011. During the Emmy Awards on Monday, September 17th, the star said, “I met my wife in this show, so in that way, it gave me my future family, and my life from here on in.”
For Harington, Game Of Thrones wasn’t just a paycheck and a television show, it was the place where he laid the foundation for his future. As fans of the actor know, Harington met Rose on the set of GOT when she played his fling, Ygritte.
In September 2017, Kit and Rose announced their engagement. Additionally, the star admitted he fumbled when he popped the question on that special day.
Kit, during an interview with Jonathan Ross in the United Kingdom, October 2017, said that he “blew his load early,” but later retracted that comment, admitting it was a poor expression. Kit said, “I popped my question a bit early. Not blew my load.”
Even though his marriage proposal wasn’t that smooth, they got married in June 2018 at Rayne Church. It’s where Leslie’s family estate lies in Scotland. Many of their GOT castmates made it out, including Peter Dinklage, Emilia Clarke, Sophie Turner, and Maisie William.
Additionally, Kit revealed just how grateful he is to have a spot on television’s best series. During a conversation with reporters, Kit said having a job on Game Of Thrones was the ideal job for someone in their twenties. “It’s been the most amazing thing, so it’s changed it completely, obviously.”
The very last season of the HBO-created series airs at the beginning of 2019, following its win for Best Drama Series at the Emmy’s on Monday.
