Kim Richards from the Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills reportedly owes the government of the United States around $118,000 in unpaid taxes. More specifically, she owes the money to the state of California.
In a report from The Blast – who was the first to obtain the records – the 53-year-old reality star received two loans back in 2013 and in 2014, and neither has been paid off.
They were given to her by the state of California, and despite being a high-paid member of the Real Housewives series at the time, she hasn’t found the time or money to pay them off.
Richards owes the state $52,000 for one year, and the second for $66,000: the total is $118,000. Like many other stars – including Wesley Snipes and DMX – Richards forgot to pay her bills.
It’s interesting to think that one of the most common reasons for the demise of a celebrity is not drugs or accidents, but something as simples as paying taxes to state and federal governments.
Either way, Richards has been in trouble with the law before, as in April 2015, when police detained her for public intoxication at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
Richards got into a confrontation with police after she wouldn’t leave the restroom where she was staying, and “disturbing other patrons.”
Richards had to attend around 30 days of community service, 52 meetings at AA, and three years of probation. For one incident, Kim was punished quite severely, but thankfully she didn’t have to go to jail. Moreover, Richards got into trouble again when she stole around 100 items from a Target store in San Fernando Valley.
