As we have previously reported, the French Police has conducted a series of raids and caught 16 suspects that might have been involved in Kim Kardashian’s Paris robbery case.
On October 3, 2016, the reality TV star was the victim of a heist in which millions of dollars worth of jewelry were stolen from her hotel suit in Paris. Furthermore, Kim was held at gun point and tied up following their breaking in.
The shock of the whole ordeal caused her to develop a mild case of PTSD and she isolated herself in her own home in the following weeks. Afraid that she was no longer safe, the Kardashian chose to stay away from any public appearances and even quit social media until recently.
The French Police officials were able to identify the suspects because of the surveillance camera footage that showed one of the robbers looking straight at the camera. Furthermore, although the video was not very clear, the DNA found on the tape used on Kim was the deciding clue in catching the perpetrators and their accomplices.
Allegedly, the DNA led the detectives to a “major thug” and a gang of veterans, their ages ranging from 50 to as old as 72.
According to a spokesperson for the Paris Prosecutor, the men were rounded up in raids starting early in the morning on January 9.
The French Police are lawfully allowed to hold the men is custody for up to 96 hours without arresting them in order to question their involvement in the robbery that left Kim Kardashian $10 million less rich.
The culprits were caught just when the Keeping Up with the Kardashains episodes caught up with the robbery and her distress and trauma could be seen on camera.
“They’re going to shoot me in the back,” cried Kim in a preview for the nest season. “There’s no way out. It makes me so upset to think about it.”
