After Kylie Jenner received considerable backlash for her cover of the latest Forbes magazine cover, Kim Kardashian, her older half-sister, came out in her defense.
While no one questioned the fact that Kylie Jenner is easily one of the most successful young women of her time, in addition to being on track to becoming a billionaire, a lot of people took issue with the use of the term, “self-made,” to categorize her.
Even the organization, Dictationary.com, took issue with the term. They tweeted that the search for the word, “self-made,” increased by 864,100% after Forbes published the issue.
The Kardashian sister explained that she had no idea where all the bad blood was coming from, because, “we’re all self-made,” the reality star explained.
She told Refinery29, “what, because we came from a family that has had success?” According to Forbes Magazine, Kylie Cosmetic generated $230 million in net profit this year, and along with her show, Keeping Up With The Kardashians, their net worth is sitting around $900 million.
Forbes explained that Ms. Jenner will go on to join the ranks of Mark Zuckerberg and Bill Gates as a self-made billionaire. Kim Kardashian said she was proud of her little sister for making a business out of her insecurity: her lips.

During an episode of KUWTK, Kylie Jenner explained getting her lips enhanced is something that she always wanted to do. As for Kim, she stated that nobody in her family ever gave them anything. Every opportunity they had, they worked for.
As for Kylie, she hasn’t been bothered by the controversy and has instead continued to promote her makeup line. In a tweet you can see above, Kylie thanks her fans for the “surreal week,” and showed gratitude for their continued support.
However, other fans online accused Kylie Jenner of commercializing insecurity and becoming the poster-child for superficiality, commercialism, and plastic surgery.
