Kim Kardashian had the internet set abuzz when she started promoting her latest fragrance on social media. Now that the perfumes have been released and sent out to purchasers, fans are coming at the makeup mogul because they feel like they’ve been gypped.
It was only a few weeks ago with multiple social influencers and celebrities filmed their unconventional unboxing videos of Kim Kardashian’s new signature scent.
Kim sent out chocolate hearts that came with a mini-hammer so her giftees can beat out the fragrance and enjoy a dessert at the same time.
After the hype made its way through Instagram and Snapchat, fans who pre-ordered the product were waiting in excitement to have that very same experience that they witnessed online.
Much to their dismay, the Kimoji Hearts came in ordinary packaging – sans chocolate heart and hammer.
That’s when they took to Twitter to call the reality star out for it.
One fan wrote: “Just got my perfume that I’ve been waiting for and there’s no chocolate heart! Wtf @Kimkardashian.”
Another said: “Extremely disappointing that my KKW fragrance just came and there wasn’t a heart-shaped candy pinata. Not cool to hype something up like that then not deliver.”
The reactions prompted Kim to respond via Twitter explaining that: “I’ve said it on my snap chat & IG stories but I just want to be extra clear that the press boxes of candy & the chocolate heart are not included with the perfume when ordering it online!”
Some people came to the star’s defense.
“You should really use your common sense obviously it’s not even logistically possible for Kim Kardashian to be able to send MILLIONS of people a chocolate f***** heart,” wrote one Twitter user.
While another feels that Kim tricked people into buying her new product by making them believe they will receive the same thing they saw online.
The commentator wrote: “Of course Kim Kardashian lied to get attention once again. First she lies about having a real body and now she uses her popularity and marketing team to get people to buy something they didn’t expect.”
What do you think? Did Kim Kardashian purposely mislead her buyers?
