Kevin Federline is looking to cash in following the announcement of Britney Spears’ successful residency in Las Vegas. During Spears’ four-year run in the Sin City of America, her show generated nearly $137 million, and now Kevin wants a piece of that action through child custody payments.
Mark Vincent Kaplan, who works as Federline’s attorney-at-law, sent a letter to Britney’s team which indicated the reasons why Federline should receive more than $20,000 per month in child support.
As you may know, the 36-year-old pop star and the former backup dancer, 39, were married from 2004 until 2007. Spears and Kevin are the parents of two children, Preston, and Jayden, who are 12 and 11 respectively.
As it was previously reported, Spears lost sole legal and physical custody of the children back in 2008 during her much-publicized mental breakdown, which led to her kids being taken care of by their father.
At the time of Britney’s mental health issues, her father, Jamie, was the one to take care of her and nurse her back to health. A source said to the publication, “Kevin has always supported Britney and vice versa.”
Kevin allegedly believes the success of Britney’s residency in Vegas was part in parcel attributed to the children in her life. Spears’ life revolves around her children, something she acknowledges.
The insider went on to say, “Kevin has been through a lot to take care of those kids and wanted more money because of it. There’s no question; they’ve both been through hard times.”
Another spectator added a different perspective, “I’m not sure how Federline needs more money. It’s not like he’s the one who’s performing out there all the time in Vegas.”
At the beginning of the month, a source close to the legendary pop-star stated Britney is flourishing in her life right now and isn’t about to let Kevin dictate the terms of the agreement.
Her progress has been tremendous, and because of that, it’s going to be difficult to push her around.
