Kendra Wilkinson came out to respond to her critics who attacked her for saying she always “wanted to pick cotton.” The base of the allegations are that Kendra inadvertently made a “racist joke,” but not everyone on the social media platform agreed with such sentiments.
On the 22nd of November, Wednesday, Kendra took to her social media to share a photo of herself picking cotton in a field in Texas. The former reality star and Playboy Playmate stopped alongside a field while driving across the country with Hank Baskett’s family.
She wrote, “always wanted to pick cotton. Lol.” Despite her harmless declaration, a lot of people claimed she was insulting African-American people because a small portion of American blacks in the Antebellum South picked cotton during the early years of American history.
#KendraWilkinson is receiving backlash online after posting a pic saying she “always wanted to pick cotton” while traveling through Texas. She responded with a video saying it was just an item on her bucket list and didn’t mean any harm. In response, a rep for the former Playboy bunny also told @TMZ_tv that she’s sorry and pointed out that her husband is black. Thoughts, #Roommates? 👀
After many people on her Instagram attacked her for the comments, several individuals voiced their support. One person wrote, “I don’t see an issue here. There is nothing wrong with saying you always wanted to see what picking cotton was like. I’m not sure what all the fuss is about.”
Kendra responded to the backlash by stating, “Lol. I just wanted to pick cotton from a plant because I’ve always wondered how it felt.”.
Wilkinson added she has never thought of “color or race.” Additionally, the former playmate said the accusations are entirely baseless considering the fact she has a black husband and black father-in-law. In other news, Kendra recently came out of the hospital after canceling a scheduled performance. However, she updated her fans by informing them of its rescheduled date.
