We have learned that Kendra Wilkinson and her estranged husband Hank Baskett are not planning on telling their children about their divorce for now! Here’s why the co-parents are struggling to keep their family routine unchanging.
The reality star filed for divorce on April 6, and she has been taking the divorce really hard.
Kendra has been open about the devastating process, so fans know.
However, as far as the kids, 8-year-old Hank Baskett IV, and 3-year-old Alijah Mary Baskett, are concerned, she wants to protect them from all of it.
One insider explained that ‘Kendra and Hank are operating as if nothing has happened with their marriage. The main reason is that they want to look as loving as usual for their kids. And, if that means putting on a front and also not breaking their weekly routine with their children, then so be it.’
It makes sense – after all, the two were married for eight years so the divorce must be hard but the children are always the ones suffering the most when their parents split.
‘The last thing Kendra wants is her children asking why she and daddy do not hug and kiss or spend as much time together anymore. So, for now, it is business as usual. In due time they will have that conversation with their children, but for now, Kendra’s doing her best to adjust to her life as a divorcee.’
Kendra took to social media before filing for divorce to share a touching message.
‘Today is the last day of my marriage to this beautiful man. I’ll forever love Hank and be open, but for now, we have chosen to go our ways. I am beyond sad and heartbroken because I believed in forever, that is why I said yes, but unfortunately too much fear has gotten in the way,’ she wrote.
