All of those who thought that Donald Trump was going to take the whole being president and running the free world thing as a hobby, his former campaign manager Kellyanne Conway is proving you right. In a new interview, Mrs. Conway suggested that her former boss can handle jobs creation, the wars in the Middle East, the repeal and replacement of Obamacare, the many threats from China and ISIS and still find time to be on a reality show.
Yes, you have read correctly, one of Trump’s closest advisors believes that he can be president of the United States and still find time to be on “Celebrity Apprentice.” The former lawyer said on CNN: “Presidents have a right to do things in their spare time. He’s a very transparent guy. Everyone can see what he’s doing, and the fact is that he is conferring with all types of experts who tell him what he can do and not do as President of the United States. If this is one of the approved activities, then perhaps he will consider staying on.”
The comments made headlines, and many pundits bashed Conway for even making such a ridiculous statement. There was also a huge backlash on social media where many Americans asked – does Trump think being president is a joke?
This morning, Conway returned to television where she used the oldest excuse in the book, she was just joking. She explained: “I was kidding, OK? Any free time he has, he works. He works. I promise.”
It seems that Conway is taking a page from Trump, during the election he said numerous controversial things, and after getting hit in the polls, he told Americans that he was just being sarcastic.
Moving from one controversy to another, Conway hinted that Trump and his team are searching for ways to go around the anti-nepotism law, which makes it illegal for presidents to hire family members. She said: “The anti-nepotism law apparently has an exception if you want to work in the West Wing. Because the President is able to appoint his own staff.”
It has already been confirmed that Ivanka Trump will have the first lady’s office space in the White House and will be advising her father.
