While Demi Lovato continues to be in the hospital following her reported overdose on an undisclosed drug, a lot of fans, as well as fellow stars, have been sharing their messages of support towards the singer. That being said, it looks like Keith Urban does not just wish Demi the usual ‘get well soon,’ but he also has some advice.
While on Australian show Today Extra, the country crooner showed his support towards the pop star.
He also told Entertainment Tonight that what she needs the most right now and in general, is to have ‘good people around her and a willingness to want to live a different way if that’s what she wants to do. It’s all up to her.’
The first part is definitely not bad advice considering that many on social media had been talking about how it was Demi’s entourage that ultimately influenced her in the wrong direction.
Before this summer, Demi Lovato had been sober for no less than six years!
Besides, Keith knows all too well what he’s talking about as he has also been pretty open about his own struggle with addiction.
Back in 2006, just months after he and Nicole Kidman got married, the country singer has no choice but to check into the Betty Ford Center in order to treat his alcohol problem.
One year after, he told People during an interview that ‘I was going to lose it all. It was like, ‘If I don’t choose this moment to do the right thing and do something that’s going to give me life, all of the things I’m scared of losing. I’m going to lose anyway.’’
