Katy Perry and her man, Orlando Bloom, got to meet the Pope at a Vatican conference this weekend. The 33-year-old singer was supposed to be one of the speakers at the United To Cure event, an organization dedicated to finding a cure for cancer.
On Saturday, April 28th, Perry shared images and videos on her Instagram Stories along with herself and Orlando talking to Pope Francis.
An insider close to the star explained, “Katy was thrilled to be meeting the pope. She grew up in a conservative and religious environment, so getting to meet the pope was pretty cool. She understands peoples’ affinity for religious symbols.”
During her speech, the “California Gurls” singer revealed she uses transcendental meditation for the relief of anxiety and depression rather than prescription medication.
Her meditation teacher, Bob Roth, who’s the CEO of the nonprofit, David Lynch Foundation, accompanied her while at the event. As for Bloom and Perry, this marks yet another time that Katy and Orlando were spotted hanging out together.
Sources previously told us, “Katy and Orlando are sort-of dating again for the second time, they’re just easing into it very slowly and refusing to put a label on it.”
“They both have incredibly busy schedules so they don’t want to promise to commit to something that they’re unable to deal with.”
The last time we heard from the couple was when Katy kicked off her tour in Japan. Orlando and the “Swish Swish” singer uploaded a video of them riding around in go-carts while in Mario and Luigi costumes.
Ironically, Logan Paul did the same thing while in Japan except dressing as Pikachu and he experienced tremendous backlash. However, he did record a dead person’s body while in the Japanese suicide forest, so perhaps it’s a bit different.
