Terry Crews told the world his story of sexual assault almost two months ago now, and since then, the alleged perpetrator, Adam Venit, has gone back to work after a short suspension without pay. Terry took to Twitter initially to speak about the Weinstein allegations; he said, “this whole Weinstein thing is giving me post-traumatic stress disorder.”
Following Terry’s come-out story, many people in Hollywood praised his choice to speak out, regardless of the fact that some may criticize him considering he is a man and a large one at that.
Katt Williams was just one of many Hollywood entertainers to praise Terry’s decision. Katt, who has known Terry for a long time and co-starred along with him in the film, Friday After Next, supported the Longest Yard actor during a Facebook live session.
Williams spoke to reporters for BET.com during a Facebook live session where the comic said, “I have not reached out to my friend in his time of need like I should have.”
Williams said he was angry to hear that Adam had gone back to work despite groping Terry during a Hollywood party last year.
He rhetorically asked, “and that person who did it went right back to work? That’s the opposite of how this scenario is supposed to go.” Williams said he was a little “angrier about the situation than is helpful,” and that’s the reason for not speaking out about the allegations sooner.
However, some on social media stated it’s a possibility Williams was just too busy for Terry, which could be the real reason for not speaking out sooner. The idea of him being “too angry” to say anything seems like an excuse to some.
