Following her Donald Trump mannequin decapitation scandal, Kathy Griffin was criticized by many, and she even lost her New Year’s Eve gig. But now, we have learned that she is doing much better, living the life!
In a brand new interview, Kathy opened up about the drama her ‘bad joke’ created, saying: ‘I did not commit a crime. I did not rape anybody. I did not assault anybody. I did not get a DUI. I mean, my God, there are celebrities that f***ing kill people.’
That being said, she explained that the very worst thing that resulted from her career ruining joke was the fact that it ended her longtime friendship with Andy Cohen.
Griffin admitted she ‘really loved him’ and revealed that the two of them have not talked ever since the man tweeted his disappointment in her following the Trump beheading scandal.
As you probably remember, at the time, Griffin posed for pics in which she was holding a bloody, severed mannequin head made to look like the current President and shared them on social media for the world to see.
Although the comedienne explained that it was an attempt at black comedy and nothing anyone should take too seriously, a lot of people, including her employer, friends, and family as well as fans seemed to disagree.
CNN fired Griffin from the New Year’s Eve job she used to host alongside Anderson Cooper as a result, and Andy Cohen was the one to replace her.
Cohen has slammed Kathy before, and it seems like it was her time to shoot back.
‘I’m a 57-year-old woman who should command respect. I have the hardware, and I certainly have more qualifications than Andy Cohen!’ Ooh, burn!
And even if she basically destroyed her career in the US, she still does international comedy tours and lives more than comfortably in her $10.5 million mansion!
