Suits are planning to fill up their roster with Katherine Heigl. As everyone knows by now, Patrick J Adams and Meghan Markle both left the popular series, with Adams moving on to another part of his career, and Markle about to marry into the British Royal family.
Reportedly, Heigl will join the cast and crew members of the USA legal drama for its eighth season. The second half of the seventh season hasn’t hit the air yet.
According to reports, Heigl will play Samantha Wheeler, who is a new partner at Pearson Specter Litt. In a statement released by the Knocked Up alum, Katherine said she was an “immense fan” of the series and joining it was a “perfect” and “organic” way of collaborating.
Additionally, Dulé Hill will be a new series regular as an opposite to Gabriel Macht, Rick Hoffman, and Sarah Rafferty. The production of the eighth season starts in Toronto, Canada, in April of 2018.
As you may know, Hegel won an Emmy Award for Grey’s Anatomy and starred in the short-lived series, Doubt on CBS, and the NBC’s State of Affairs.
However, her career came to a stand-still for several years due to the controversial comments she made while accepting an award.
Heigl criticized the writing on Grey’s Anatomy publicly, an action which is widely considered to be a faux-pas in the entertainment world. Furthermore, Heigl criticized the movie, Knocked Up, created and written by Judd Apatow, and said it perpetuated harmful female stereotypes.
As a result of her repeated social slanders, her career slowed down for nearly a decade. However, it appears as though she’s making a comeback.
