Katherine Heigl wanted to bring life to a very unfortunate situation, but her fans didn’t like it at all. Katherine, the star of Knocked Up And Grey’s Anatomy, published a few photographs of herself in a cemetery but she had to apologize because her followers found it extremely disrespectful.
In a report from Us Weekly, the publication claims Heigel was visiting some of her family members in Buffalo, New York, this past weekend. The actress posed beside the gravestone of her late brother, who died back in 1986 in a car accident, and uploaded the image on to Instagram.
While the poses were respectful when it came to her standing beside her family member’s gravestones, it took a turn for the worse when she messed around on other people’s graves.
Just a couple of hours after she posted them on Instagram, she released a video apologizing for all of it. She took full responsibility for her actions in an Instagram Story you can see below:
The 39-year-old said she noticed that the page was getting a lot of reactions, and many of which, were negative, so she decided to pull them down because she realized that her fans were right.
Heigel revealed she wanted to visit her family member’s graves and then ironically defaced those of others. It was an action stemming from a lack of compassion, or even just dull-headedness. She failed to empathize with others.
This isn’t the first time Katherine has dealt with controversy. A few years ago, Heigel indicated she would withdraw from receiving an Emmy Award because her storyline was “lackluster,” clearly, inadvertently insulting the writers for Grey’s Anatomy.
It was a terrible decision on her part, which costed her movie roles for years. For many writers, receiving an Emmy Award is a big deal, and it helps them secure future work.
So, for her to criticize that very writing, is a tremendous mistake. Moreover, Katherine also criticized Judd Apatow’s movie, Knocked Up, ironically, the one that practically cemented her status as an actress. Heigel complained that the movie perpetuated negative female stereotypes – negative female stereotypes from which she benefited.
