Prince Charles celebrated his 70th birthday with a charming photo shoot with Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle. Although the photos turned out adorable, sources say not everyone left the birthday bash feeling happy.
Insiders claim that tempers flared after Charles asked to take a photo with only his grandchildren: Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
According to Daily Star, William and Middleton denied the request and opted to include everyone in the photo. The move allegedly made Charles unhappy and stirred up a lot of drama behind the scenes.
“We don’t know what’s happening in the palace, but I feel like behind the scenes things might not be going so well,” Kaitlin Menza, a royal expert, explained.
Queen Elizabeth and Prince Andrew were noticeably missing from the photos. It is unclear why they decided not to be included in the festivities.
The drama comes after Charles allegedly bashed his sons for not working as much as he did as a young man. Insiders claim that Charles made a push to put his boys in their place and wants them to understand that he is going to be the next King of England once Elizabeth steps down.
Charles has waited a long time to take the throne, yet some people have speculated that the crown will go to William instead. William has consistently ranked higher in popularity than his father in British polls, and it seems like a lot of people are pushing for him to be king next.
That said, passing up Charles and giving William the throne would be a huge shocker. But stranger things have happened in the history of the monarchy.
Kensington Palace has not commented on the reports surrounding William and Charles. William is currently dealing with rumors of a growing rift between his wife, Kate Middleton, and Prince Harry’s new bride, Meghan Markle.
Unfortunately, those rumors only got worse after Harry and Markle announced their exit from Kensington Palace. The two are moving out of their home next door to Prince William and Kate Middleton, to a larger estate near Windsor Castle.
