Karrueche Tran emerged into the spotlight under interesting circumstances, despite being a model at the time, she was best known as the girlfriend of Chris Brown. She’s spoken openly about the abuse, intimidation, and confusion she suffered during that relationship. At one point, she was even a part of a love triangle when he and Rihanna were seen publically together after they had already started dating.
Much of her notoriety or specific connotations were linked to him. She’s since managed to heal and spearhead a career that is increasingly impressive.
While she still models, she’s entered into a new phase of her career as an actress. She currently plays Virginia in TNT’s hit show Claws.
The beauty recently did a photo shoot with Paper Magazine where she discussed her modeling contract with Wilhelmina and all of the other exciting projects that she has coming up.
Tran opened up about the fixation that society puts on women’s bodies and how they’re supposed to look.
She believes so much of the current trend in body part augmentation is due to such harshness from others because of the very visible platform so many people live on.
Tran was able to really contemplate this when she considered having work done or changing her appearance simply because of comments she would see from others criticizing her body.
She feels that everyone’s preoccupation with being thick or having a big butt is all a societal construct, much like how years ago, being rail thin was what was deemed most desirable.
Despite how the most desirable aspects shift, it’s still indicative of others having a greater say and more of a hold on each individual body and esteem than they should.
It seems that Tran has accepted the body she was given and doesn’t harp on the fact that she doesn’t have parts that others seem to covet.
