According to a report released by Pitchfork, Kanye West has lashed out again at the two music streaming services from Tidal and Apple. This comes after previously this year he had also called out on them for “f**king up the music game”.
On Wednesday night, the singer held a concert in Seattle, and then he supposedly said that the chance for him to release a sequel to the Watch the Throne material he launched back in 2011 is really small, mainly because his collaborator Jay Z is interfering through the fact that he owns Tidal, a streaming music service which rivals Apple Music.
West said that there will never be a Watch the Throne 2 simply because of “some Tidal/Apple bull****”. He also declared that Tidal also affected other things from their professional evolution, such as his and Jay-Z’s appearances in the Pop Style single Drake released this year. As it seems, Tidal was guilty again and it also suffered from some political interferences, tying in to the percentages they used on songs.
Despite all the scandal, both West and Jay-Z have some recent music produced by them released on Tidal. This might mean that Kanye quit his personal expectations for another collaboration with Jay Z because they couldn’t agree on Tidal’s role when it came to switching Pop Style from Drake with Views.
Back this July, Kanye West pressured Tim Cook, the CEO at Apple, to stop copying Steve Jobs and just write a check and send it to Jay Z in order to buy Tidal. Ever since then though, the company did not confirm any rumors that they are planning to do so any time soon. Moreover, they mentioned that they are not planning to buy any streaming service at all. In September, West confirmed that he will be collaborating with Drake for a new album.
