We have learned that after being slammed by Kim Kardashian, the non-profit organization co-founded by her rapper husband Kanye West and named after his mom, has dropped her name! Check out the details!
As you may be aware, Kanye and Rhymefest, also known as Che Smith co-created Donda’s House back in 2011.
The charity’s name was meant to pay tribute to the rapper’s late mother Donda West while helping the young people from his hometown, Chicago.
It all started when Rhymefest took to social media to slam Kanye, saying he has abandoned the organization and begged Drake to step in instead.
While West did not respond to the tweet, Kim did!
The reality TV star shot back at Rhymefest, insulting his music and style.
She even accused him of lying about it and threatened to actually take away the charity from him.
As a result, it was announced on Saturday that while the non-profit will continue to be active and help the Chicago youth, it will no longer be named Donda’s House!
‘Due to recent events that have occurred over the last 48 hours, we’ve decided no longer to use the name Donda’s House Inc. It has been an incredibly difficult decision but the social media quotes from Kim Kardashian, as well as the expressed interest of her family running the organization, has brought us to this decision,’ the charity tweeted.
The statement went on: ‘Over the last 5 years we’ve put our students and community first. We would like to thank all our supporters, and we assure you our hearts have always been with the City of Chicago and we’ll continue to support youth in our future endeavors. We encourage Kim and Kanye to indeed pick up the baton of service.’
