Following the reports indicating that Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin had gotten married already, Justin Bieber is looking to get his American citizenship. As fans of the singer know, he hails from Stratford, Ontario, Canada.
According to a report from TMZ, Bieber is applying for dual citizenship for both the United States and Canada. Mr. Bieber has lived in America since he was a 13-year-old child, moving to Atlanta to kick off his career approximately ten years ago.
Justin lives in Los Angeles, New York City, as well as the province of Ontario, where he owns a $5 million property. For Bieber to become a citizen, he has to have a Permanent Resident card for a minimum of five years.
Sources revealed that Justin and Hailey tied the knot in a civil ceremony on Thursday while in the Big Apple. Justin and Hailey got married suddenly without telling anyone.
Previously, an insider explained that Justin and Hailey are still intending on having a ceremony with some of their friends and family.
As fans of the pair know, they’re both quite religious. Justin turned to God a few years ago to help cope with fame, and Hailey is from a religious family. Even though People Magazine confirmed the fact that they had a ceremony, Baldwin remarked on Friday that she isn’t really a tied down woman just yet.
The model took to Twitter to say, “I understand where the speculation is coming from, but I’m not married yet!”
Previously, a source explained: “Justin and Hailey want to keep all of this on the down-low, and they were able to for the most part, but TMZ caught wind of it and now everyone knows.”
Another insider added, “a lot of people are saying that they’re rushing into it and they’re too young, but people got married at an early age all of the time in the past. It’s not that big of a deal.”
