When cameras spotted Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin at a courthouse last Thursday, fans went nuts. Eyewitnesses say that they were in the marriage bureau, and they did get their marriage license and they legally tied the knot. But, there is a big ceremony and celebration that is yet to come. However, even though they got the legal part of getting married out of the way, it appears that Bieber and Baldwin may have missed an important step — and it could cost Bieber a lot of money.
Sources say that Bieber and Baldwin did not have a prenuptial agreement when they went to the courthouse. Baldwin has an estimated net worth of about $2 million, and in contrast, Bieber’s net worth is estimated at $265 million. Because they didn’t legally hash out their division of property in case of a divorce before they got married, it could end up costing Bieber millions if they do eventually split.

Prenups are common when one spouse is worth significantly more than the other, especially in Hollywood. But, since the two are devoted Christians who place the importance of marriage on the religious aspect and not the legality, they apparently opted to skip the prenup and avoid divorce because of their beliefs.
Of course, as The Hollywood Gossip points out, another reason they skipped the prenup could be because they are both so incredibly young, and don’t realize how catastrophically expensive divorce can be.
According to People Magazine, even though Bieber and Baldwin got privately married in a courthouse, their actual wedding date is yet to come.
“They didn’t want anyone but their families to know they got married. This wasn’t a wedding,” an insider revealed. “They can’t wait to have a wedding. But for other reasons, it was easier for them to get the legal stuff out of the way now and to get married. It was more of a necessary ceremony to make it legal. It doesn’t seem like it was a big deal to them.”
The couple has chosen to wait until after their actual wedding to wear rings, and insiders say that will happen in the next few months. They made the decision last week to get an appointment at the courthouse, but they are still planning the actual party.

Some of their family members knew about the courthouse trip, but they didn’t tell any friends. However, they are excited to find the right location and have a big blowout “in front of God and everyone they love.”
TMZ photographed the couple outside of the courthouse last week, and they were very emotional, with Justin Bieber telling Hailey Baldwin that he couldn’t wait to marry her. He also reportedly thanked a court official for keeping their wedding plans “on the DL.”
