After his molestation, porn addiction, and cheating scandals back in 2015, the Duggar family sent their oldest son, Josh Duggar, to a sex rehabilitation and hard labor camp in Illinois. The Christian rehab center, known as Reformers Unanimous, is a Biblical-based addiction recovery facility that doesn’t have psychologists on staff, but according to its website is a program designed to “rescue, recover, and restore those in addictive behaviors with the power of the hidden life found only in Jesus Christ.” But, a recent throwback photo from the Duggar family has some doubting Josh’s rehab story. Is it possible he never went through the controversial program?
According to The Hollywood Gossip, the throwback photo from Christmas of 2015 featured some of the younger Duggar daughters in Christmas dresses with their brothers standing behind them. But, it’s the mysterious man in the background that has fans asking questions.
The picture crops the head, but it could possibly be Josh, which would mean he was at the family home when he was supposed to be in Illinois. He was allegedly sequestered in the program for months, while his wife Anna moved in with her parents and their four kids lived at the Duggar house.
Earlier reports claimed that Josh Duggar left the program “for some time” during his extended stay, which is not the norm for someone in a legitimate rehab facility. Most have strict policies about when people can leave.
The Duggar family made it clear that Josh could not leave Reformers Unanimous until he completed his treatment, so Anna had to visit him regularly. That is their story, and they are sticking to it.
But, if the 29-year-old didn’t go to rehab, where did he go? Or, if he was there, could he just leave anytime he wanted? And, in this kind of facility, did he really get any help? Fans have a lot of questions.
An insider told Radar Online that Josh recently completed his treatment and is now back with his family. He and his wife Anna have also welcomed another baby. He is reportedly “doing great,” and adjusting to life as a father of five.
Per OK! Magazine, he reunited with his family at Thanksgiving, but not everyone was happy about it. When the family posted a picture on social media, many were upset that the former 19 Kids & Counting star was in the same room as so many children.
Josh Duggar or any member of the Duggar family has not commented on the rumors surrounding his stint in rehab.
