As fans are aware, Johnny Depp was allegedly accused by a City of Lies crew member of assault. According to E! News, Gregg ’Rocky’ Brooks says in legal documents that the actor ‘maliciously and forcefully punched the plaintiff twice in the lower left side of his rib cage.’
The staff member also states that he suffered ‘physical pain and emotional and psychological injury.’
Not only that but apparently, Depp’s action ‘was intentional and malicious and done for the purpose of causing the plaintiff to suffer humiliation.’
Gregg goes on in the documents obtained by the outlet to say that the ‘intoxication and temper created a hostile, abusive and unsafe work environment,’ which then led to him being assaulted by Johnny.
Finally, he also claims that when he refused to sign a waiver on his right to sue, the crew member was fired.
Arbella Azizian, Greggs attorney, tells E! News that ‘My client wants to make sure Mister Depp is held accountable for his actions on set so that, in the future, others will not be put in the same situation.’
The director for City of Lies, Brad Furman, previously defended Johnny Depp in a statement for Us Weekly, saying: ‘Johnny Depp is a consummate professional, great collaborator and a supporter of other artists. He always treats the crew and people around him with the utmost respect. Movies can be stressful, and nonevents often become exaggerated. We all love stories — there isn’t one here.’
The latest update on the scandal has E! News reporting that Depp’s defense is denying the violent attack took place at all!
His legal teams told the news outlet the following: ‘Despite false media reports suggesting otherwise, Johnny Depp never touched the person suing him as over a dozen witnesses present will attest. In a court filing, we have generally denied all claims, and we will fight the latest sham allegations.’
Therefore, Brooks is not ‘entitled to any remedy of relief, legal, equitable, or otherwise, in any sum whatsoever.’
What do you think actually happened? Is Johnny really innocent or not?
