Gregg Brooks, once a location manager for the City Of Lies, is suing Mr. Johnny Depp who allegedly punched him in the face and berated him while on set in 2017. Brooks and Johnny got into an altercation after Gregg told Mr. Depp that they only had one more chance to finish a scene, and Depp became agitated and violent.
According to Brooks, who filed documents in court, as obtained by People Magazine, Johnny followed him after work, punched him in the ribs twice, and screamed, “who the f*ck are you?”
Depp, who used to be married to Amber Heard, continued berating him: “You have no right to tell me what to do!” Depp told him that he would give him $100,000 if he were to strike Johnny back in the face.
Brooks said he didn’t do anything, and then eventually, the bodyguards and security workers had to remove Depp from the set.
Brad Furman, the director, responded to the allegations in a statement to Page Six, where he referred to the claims as “exaggerated,” and described Depp as a “consummate professional,” as well as a “great collaborator.”
Mr. Furman states that Depp “respects other artists,” and while movie sets become stressful and take a lot of work, there simply “isn’t one (a story) here,” as much as Brooks would like there to be.
Brooks said in his lawsuit he had “suffered pain, severe humiliation, mental anguish,” among other ailments.
As it was previously reported, this is just one of many legal problems faced by Mr. Depp in the last two years, following his divorce with Amber Heard, as well as the $25 million lawsuit he filed against former business managers.
Johnny claims that his old business partners mismanaged around $650 million to the point of near bankruptcy. However, the managers of Mr. Depp state Johnny merely spent his money irresponsibly.
