It has happened, John Stamos is engaged to be married to Miss Caitlin McHugh!
Some supporters are bummed out that it is not his co-star, Lori Loughlin, famous for the role Aunt Becky, marrying Uncle Jesse.
Many fans, who grew up watching Full House and are enjoying the reboot of the comedy series under the name Fuller House, are agreeably surprised by the engagement news.
Like George Clooney (before Amal, of course) and Leonardo DiCaprio, many people believed that Stamos would be an eternal bachelor.
It had looked like the divorce from Rebecca Romijn left a bitter taste in his mouth, and he was no longer interested in walking down the aisle a second time.
The 54-year-old Grandfathered actor made the announcement last night via a cute drawing of the couple in front of Cinderella’s castle in Disneyland.
Stamos and McHugh are obsessed with all things Disney. In 2011, the lovers appeared in an episode of the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit called “Bang.”
The Thieves star captioned the photo: “I asked…she said yes! …And we lived happily ever after.”
Fans rushed to congratulate the lovebirds.
One of them said: “Congratulations you two. This is what the world needs: love. Wonderful to see you two found that in each other sending you a big hug and all the best wishes for your future together.”
Another shared: Johnny babe, I want nothing but happiness for you. But I also want to be the source of that happiness. Forever, John. That is how long I will wait. Can’t wait to see the fabulous Disney wedding!
A third supporter had the following to say: “Congratulations @johnstamos! I wish you nothing but love and happiness during your marriage I cannot even imagine how magical the proposal was! Wish you both nothing but happiness and a lifetime of love (and maybe a Disney wedding…”
Some fans jokingly said they had hoped that Aunt Becky and Uncle Jesse would become husband and wife.
Loughlin is married to Mossimo Giannulli, the designer and founder of the clothing company Mossimo, so that was not happening.
Loughlin did reveal that they never had good timing for a real-life romance.
She said in an old interview: “I was married at the time that I was doing the show. And then when I got divorced, [John] met Rebecca Romijn, and he got married, so our timing was just really off. I don’t think it ever entered our minds that it would be something more.”
Fans predict a huge Disney wedding for Stamos and McHugh.
