There is a big time gap between what the Duggar family shares on social media and what we see on Counting On, so sometimes it is difficult to know what announcements are current news, and what is a repeat. Add the fact that there are so many weddings and babies in Duggar world, it can get pretty confusing. The TLCme blog recently posted a video of Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo making a shocking baby announcement, but most Counting On fans already knew the information the couple had to share.
In the video, Duggar and Vuolo share with fans that they just found out they were having a baby girl, making Jinger the first Duggar daughter of her generation to do so. Her sisters Jill, Jessa, and Joy-Anna have all given birth to boys.
But, this news came out months ago, when Jinger and Vuolo posted their gender reveal on social media. The couple welcomed baby Felicity in July, and since her arrival, the proud new parents have not been shy when it comes to gushing over their daughter on Instagram.
Felicity recently turned two months old, and the young family shared a new pic to mark the occasion. In the adorable photo, Vuolo is gazing warmly into Felicity’s eyes while she lays on her back and smiles at him. The proud papa captioned the pic, “She’s all smiles these days.”
Felicity Nicole arrived at 4:37 a.m. on July 19th. She weighed in at 8 pounds and 3 ounces and was 19.5 inches long. Unlike her sisters, Jinger opted to give birth at a hospital and had a birth plan that included inducing labor. The Duggar women have famously gone past their due dates and given birth to large babies. Joy-Anna’s son Gideon was over ten pounds! Jill, Jessa, and Joy-Anna have also had complications that forced them to abandon their plans for home births and get to the hospital for emergency C-sections.
Jinger wanted to avoid all of those possible problems, and when she gave birth at a Texas hospital, things went smoothly, and both she and her new baby were healthy and doing well.
Despite a few concerns from fans who thought Felicity looked “blue” in one of the pics Jinger posted on social media, the newest Duggar baby remains happy and healthy.
Jinger and Vuolo chose the name Felicity because it “felt right.” They explained that it was the name of a young Christian girl who lived a long time ago, St. Felicitas, a third-century martyr from Carthage.
