The two proud fathers both have a son named Billy, and they bonded over it and joked around about it on Saturday night! It all started with Jimmy Kimmel jokingly telling actor John Stamos that his son was way too young to babysit his name twin.
At the time they interacted, the men were on the red carpet at the From Paris With Love Children’s Hospital Los Angeles fundraising gala and they were caught on E! News’ camera.
While at the event, Kimmel was honored with the Courage to Care award.
As fans know, last year, the Late! host revealed that his baby boy Billy underwent heart surgery soon after being born in order to fix a congenital defect.
As for Stamos, he and his wife Caitlyn McHugh welcomed son Billy back in April.
‘We both have Billys,’ Stamos pointed, matter of factly.
‘Yeah, we do have Billys. A pair of Billys. [Mine’s] 18 months tomorrow.’
‘He can babysit ours. Six months,’ the actor told Kimmel.
‘No, he’s too young to babysit, John. John only has one kid so he does not know—18-month-old children cannot babysit a six-month-old, no,’ Kimmel joked.
The joke continued with Stamos asking if Kimmel’s four-year-old daughter Jane could do it instead.
‘Uh, no, she’s 4, she’s too young to watch. They gotta be at least 14,’ Kimmel said.
Stamos concluded: ‘You’re no good to me.’
After their hilarious interaction, Jimmy talked more about his son to E! News, saying: ‘He is very healthy and he is walking around. Every day he picks up another word. Today it was ‘on’ and ‘off.’ I don’t know how he got them both together but he wants the light on and off, and then on and off until a light bulb explodes.’
