Real Housewives of New York alum Jill Zarin lost her husband Bobby to cancer last week, and Executive Producer Andy Cohen has confirmed that Zarin invited the Bravo cameras to the funeral.
The Bravo Connoisseur tweeted that the family did not allow the cameras inside the service, but they did allow them outside, and Zarin’s late husband will be memorialized this season.
Many fans scolded the network for having cameras at the funeral, claiming the move was in bad taste, but producers insist there was no drama and they wanted to capture the moment because Bobby was an important part of the show and a good friend to many who appear on it.
Rest In Peace my love. Words can not express the hole in my heart. Bobby taught me what true and deep love is. Thank you my love for sharing your life with me.. for raising Allyson as if she was your own, being an amazing father and grandfather and teaching me how to be a better person. You inspire those around you to be the best they can be. I will never forget you… your legacy lives on through your beautiful children and grandchildren . I will continue to raise money and awareness for ITOG ( international Thyroid Oncology Group) so maybe this won’t happen to the next guy who draws the proverbial short straw. I will continue to honor you and make you proud . You taught me so many lessons. I will turn the lights off when I leave a room and try not to lose my keys! Lists! Yes I will make lists now that you can’t remind me. Thank you to all our friends, family and fans for the most incredible love you have shown our family. The messages bring tears to my eyes and will continue reading them all in the coming weeks. I will continue my tribute in the coming days and weeks and if you want to share anything please leave messages. Tomorrow is the funeral so I will sleep now. Love Jill
Since Bobby’s passing, Zarin’s fellow housewives from around the country have showered her with support, and she shared that they have given her “overwhelming love” during this difficult time.
Everyone from fellow New Yorker Ramona Singer to Real Housewives of Orange County star Vicki Gunvalson has let Zarin know that she is on their mind.
“Ramona has been incredible,” reveals Zarin “She texts me, she emails me, she showed up at the hospital early on.”
Zarin went on to say that Gunvalson sent her flowers and Real Housewives of New Jersey star Melissa Gorga sent her a supportive email.
RHONY ladies and alums packed Bobby’s funeral service, including Dorinda Medley, Sonja Morgan, Aviva Drescher, Kelly Killoren Bensimon, and Bethenny Frankel.
Zarin admitted that it was surreal to see so many people show up for the service, including some she hadn’t seen in 20 years. She also said that people from all over the world dropped what they were doing and came to pay their respects.
Frankel sent Skinnygirl wine for the Shiva held after the funeral and Cohen sent a snack platter from New York’s Barney Greengrass.
Zarin and Frankel had a falling out years ago, and the former best friends hadn’t talked since then. But, this somber occasion changed all of that, and the two had a moment outside after the funeral.

The 54-year-old says that she talked with Frankel and told her that Bobby’s wish was for the two of them to become friends again. He was a big fan of Frankel’s and loved her very much.
He didn’t think there was any reason that his wife shouldn’t be friends with her. When Zarin told Frankel all of this, she responded by telling her former best friend, “Well, I’m here.” And just like that, their feud came to an end.
Zarin also made sure to tell Frankel that her late husband was proud of her accomplishments as a businesswoman and the mother she had become.
Jill Zarin also shared with Frankel how scared she was to be alone, but the Skinnygirl mogul reassured her that everything would be ok.
