Jill Duggar Rebels Against Jim Bob Duggar’s Strict Rules Even Further Than Just Wearing Pants

Apparently, it was too hot for former Counting On star Jill Duggar when she was out gardening this week. So, she decided to ignore her parents’ modest dress code once again and exposed her bare shoulders by wearing a tank top. She also documented the afternoon in a video she posted on Instagram.
Summer is almost here, so it makes sense that the 27-year-old would want to cool off in the hot sun. But sporting a tank top is a new fashion choice for the Duggar daughter who used to be so conservative with her clothing that she wore skirts when volunteering as a firefighter.
Last year, Duggar started putting her mom and dad’s rules behind her by wearing jeans. Since then, the mom of two has posted pics of herself wearing short dresses, high heels, a henna tattoo, and a nose ring.
Lately, she seems to be putting forth an effort to be a bit more progressive, and not just with her clothing choices. Duggar recently attended her Latina goddaughter’s Kindergarten graduation at a public school, and she also visited a mosque with a Muslim friend during Ramadan to share a meal. On top of that, she has been sharing messages of acceptance on social media.
For a homeschooled, fundamentalist Christian from rural Arkansas, this is a big deal, but as In Touch Weekly reports, some fans aren’t sure that her intentions are pure. Some believe she is trying to distract fans from her husband Derick Dillard’s horrible actions on social media.
Last week, Dillard went after transgender people once again when TLC promoted their new show Lost In Transition, which follows four women who are married to men who recently announced they are transitioning. Dillard retweeted the promo and wrote that he hoped the series would “show the devastation mental illness causes.”
He also posted a picture of his three-year-old son Israel playing with blocks and joked that he was helping Trump build his wall.
And, just last month the 29-year-old attacked the stars of Nate & Jeremiah by Design – Nate Berkus and his husband, Jeremiah Brent – by calling their family “a travesty.”

Even though TLC fired him from Counting On last year for bullying a transgender teen, Dillard just can’t seem to stop the hate speech. Things have gotten so bad that his brother-in-law Ben Seewald has unfollowed him, and another brother-in-law, Jeremy Vuolo, seemed to throw some shade at Dillard on Twitter.
Meanwhile, Duggar has remained pretty quiet when it comes to her husband’s controversial social media activity. The only thing she has posted that comes close to being a comment on his actions was when she wrote, “to disagree doesn’t equal hate.”
New episodes of Counting On return to TLC later this summer. Check social media and their website to keep up to date on Jill Duggar and her family.
