Former Counting On star Jill Duggar Dillard continues to break tradition and is proving that she has put her family’s dress code behind her. Even though putting on a pair of pants is still a violation of the Duggar family rules, Dillard continues to do things her own way.
The 26-year-old recently shared a video on Facebook of some playtime between her and 2-year-old Israel, and Dillard was rocking a baggy sweatshirt and jeans while she quizzed her son on the names of different chess pieces.
But this isn’t the first time Dillard has worn pants. Back in January, while speaking to a crowd of young women about their relationship with God, the mom of two wore tight black pants, and her husband, Derick Dillard, took a picture and shared it on Instagram.
But Jill isn’t the only Duggar daughter who changed up her wardrobe once she got married. Her sister Jinger was the first one in the family to rebel and wear pants, short skirts, and heels. Then Jessa followed suit by rocking some leggings in a video she posted with her son.
The Duggar daughters have obviously made some serious changes in their thinking when it comes to clothing. Back in 2014, they wrote the book Growing Up Duggar, and in it, they explained that they dress modestly because their bodies are a gift from God and he intends for them to share it only with their husbands.
They even listed clothes that they would avoid, like bare-shouldered or low-cut tops.
But times have changed, and for Jill, it’s all because of Derick. However, for many fans, Derick’s influence hasn’t been the greatest. Whenever she goes on social media to tell fans how amazing her husband is, fans aren’t buying it.
For months Derick has been running his mouth on Twitter, and he has bashed transgender teen Jazz Jennings as well as the victims of the Parkland, Florida school shooting. His rant against Jennings led to TLC firing him from Counting On, but he doesn’t seem interested in keeping his views to himself.
However, according to Jill, she has the “best hubby ever,” because he brings her chocolate milk from the grocery store, makes her dinner, rubs her feet, takes her out on dates, and snuggles up with her and their sons in bed on a Saturday morning.
Jill might be happy with Derick, but their relationship has completely changed her life. After being on reality television for a decade, she is no longer a part of her family’s show because of her husband’s actions. The network may not have fired her, but in a move of solidarity, she decided not to return this season.
So now, fans only have social media if they want to keep up with Dillards. But, it’s safe to say at this point, no matter what they post, there will be backlash.
New episodes of Counting On, without Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard, air Monday nights on TLC.
