Counting On star Josiah Duggar married Lauren Swanson on June 30th in front of a number of family and friends at John Brown University Cathedral of the Ozarks in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Of course, many people took pictures of the big day – including Josiah’s sister Jill Duggar – and she was excited to share them with her fans on social media. But, it looks like the 27-year-old forgot to ask the newlyweds for permission.
Cafe Mom is reporting that Jill posted a screenshot of her family’s blog over the weekend and linked it to her Instagram account, announcing that she had new pics from Josiah and Lauren’s wedding. On the post, Jill added the link to her website and added the caption, “New pics and videos up! **link in bio!!**”
But, it appears that Josiah and Lauren didn’t appreciate Jill sharing pics with fans before they did, because within hours of sharing the new photos, she took down the entire post.
Right away, people noticed the missing blog link, including commenters on the Facebook page Life Is Not All Pickles and Hairspray, and some started to wonder if the newlyweds were mad that Jill tried to steal their thunder. And, some also questioned if Jill posted the pics out of spite since she is no longer on Counting On.
Or, it is entirely possible that Josiah and Lauren have some kind of contract with TLC or People Magazine to give them exclusive rights. Season eight of Counting On premieres at the end of the month, and it makes sense that the network would want exclusive footage of Josiah and Lauren’s nuptials.
Whatever the reason, the couple and the network have only shared a few photos from their wedding day, and Jill obviously jumped the gun with her post and didn’t bother to ask permission.
Another report claims that Josiah and Lauren’s wedding day was quite the disaster. A witness says that the event was “chaotic,” and the organizer messed up everything for the many volunteers, as well as the venue.
The insider didn’t mention any specific names, but the wedding planner was Jana Duggar’s good friend Laura DeMasie, who also planned Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth’s wedding, plus Joseph Duggar and Kendra Caldwell’s.
But, despite the claims of a chaotic wedding day, Josiah Duggar and Lauren Swanson said it was “absolutely perfect,” and it is a “joy” to finally be husband and wife.
New episodes of Counting On will return to TLC on Monday, July 30th.
