American Horror Story fans rejoice! Jessica Lange is back this upcoming season! Today, the cast of the beloved anthology show confirmed the actress would be part of AHS: Apocalypse.
While in attendance at the Television Critics Association press tour, Sarah Paulson made it very clear to all of the press in the room that ‘I do have the great pleasure of letting you all know that, yes, she will be back. Jessica will be returning as Constance in an episode that I’m going to direct.’
Double the good news! We are sure everyone is looking forward to the episode directed by the ever hilarious and talented Sarah Paulson as much as they are excited about fan favorite Jessica Lange’s return.
The season that has been confirmed to be a crossover between Murder House and Coven will feature Lange in episode 6 and knowing how episodic characters end up, it seems like she’ll probably be in a gruesome death scene by the end of the episode.
Executive producer Alexis Martin Woodall has also teased fans on what they can expect from the new season, saying: ‘The story begins with the end of the world and then our world begins. It starts in the real world. It’s very tangible, and I feel like it’s a familiar character. If the apocalypse is the launching point, what’s the fantasy of what happens next? If we’re still here, then the world didn’t completely end.’
Paulson went on to give a few details on Lange’s role in Apocalypse, saying: ‘She is the Supreme – for now. At the beginning of our story, that is the title she still holds. I don’t know how long that is going to last. An enjoyment is not possible at the juncture of the story, she’s not running around like her mother snorting cocaine and throwing young witches against the wall, though she may like to be doing that.’
