According to Jessica Biel, it’s never too early to educate your kids about sex and the human body. When appearing at a conference on Tuesday, Jessica and the Tryst Network collaborator sat down with Saundra Pelletier and Elaine Welteroth for a conversation about relationships and sex.
Welteroth asked Jessica and Saundra how parents should handle their children’s burgeoning sexuality following the completion of the sexual education program in schools.
While speaking with the other women, Biel said she had already started having conversations with Timberlake – her husband, and their two-year-old child, Silas.
Jessica said, at this time, she hasn’t gotten into anything overtly specific or technical, but has begun merely talking about the different body types that human beings have while in the shower with her little boy.
Biel acknowledged that some might think her child is too young to hear about sex, but the actress explained there is no shame in a child becoming comfortable and familiar with his or her own physical characteristics.
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre star stated it “starts young,” and needs the topic to be one that is easily discussed. Additionally, Jessica admitted she sometimes laughs while it’s awkward.
The actress had advice for other parents out there: she stated that if you want to laugh, just do it. “If you want to say vagina and laugh or say penis or whatever, well do it!”
On top of her new life as a mother, Biel’s husband, Justin Timberlake, performed at the Super Bowl and many people loved his performance. In an Instagram post just before the show, Justin and Biel admitted his new album, Man Of The Woods, had its title inspired by their son’s name, Silas.
