Demi Lovato cast none other than Grey’s Anatomy actor Jesse Williams to play her significant other in the Tell Me You Love Me music video. In the newly released clip, the two were supposed to have a fairytale-like wedding, but a shocking turn of events had us all emotional for so many reasons!
The music video was directed by Mark Pellington and tells the story of a pair that goes through all the usual ups and downs of any real-life relationship.
Unfortunately, however, there was no happy ending for them but the strong message was relatable to us all – you need to love yourself first before loving anyone else.
The cinematic video shows the couple sharing kisses, dealing with jealousy and finally standing at the altar after an exciting proposal.
Check it out for yourself!
Demi also released a statement about the new single, saying: ‘This song’s one of my favorites which is why I named the album after it. I not only love performing it, but I think the underlying meaning’s important for people to know. At the end of the day, you have everything you need standing right in front of you. And that is yourself.’
Wise words! Afterward, she went on to talk about the video, saying that shooting it was ‘really fun!’
‘We had a full-on wedding, and my best friends were even my bridesmaids and groomsmen. The locations were beautiful. It was perfect,’ Lovato recalled.
If only she weren’t left at the altar in the end! What a rollercoaster of emotions! What do you think of the song and music video?
