Jersey Shore: Family Vacation star Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino will be able to join the rest of the cast for season two in Las Vegas this summer because a judge has postponed Sorrentino’s sentencing yet again.
Radar Online is reporting that, according to court papers they obtained from United States District Court of New Jersey, the judge postponed the sentencing date from June 20th to August 15th – and then rescheduled it again for September 7th.
Sorrentino’s attorney, Henry Klingeman, requested that the court reschedule the sentencing date because of conflicts with a “long-planned family vacation.”
Back in 2014, a Federal Grand Jury indicted Sorrentino and his brother, Marc, because they failed to pay taxes on $8.9 million of income. They also brought charges of filing false tax returns with the IRS on Sorrentino’s businesses.
More charges came in April 2017. The grand jury accused Sorrentino of tax evasion and structuring funds to avoid currency transaction reports. They also charged his brother with falsifying records to obstruct a grand jury investigation.
In January, the reality star pled guilty to one count of tax evasion and he now faces up to five years in prison. Meanwhile, his brother pled guilty to aiding in the preparation of a fraudulent tax return, and he is facing up to three years in prison.
The cast of Jersey Shore arrived in Las Vegas this week to begin filming the second season of their reunion series. Sorrentino, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Jenni “JWoww” Farley, DJ Pauly D, Vinny Guadagnino, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, and Deena Nicole Cortese will be staying in a Las Vegas rental house and traveling throughout the season.
Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola was the only cast member not to return for the revival that has been a huge success for MTV.
“She’s so happy that she didn’t do the show,” says an insider. “She’s happy with her life and has moved on with her boyfriend [Christian Biscardi]. He’s The One. They have a great life together and have their own business. She doesn’t regret not going back on for a second.”
Angelina Pivarnick – who briefly appeared on a recent Family Vacation episode – says she would like to see Giancola return to the show. She says that she would love to live with Giancola again and that the two of them were close. So, she would love for them to be close again.
Jersey Shore: Family Vacation airs Thursday nights on MTV. The final episode of season one in Miami will air on June 28th.
