Jennifer Lawrence thought about the disasters that have been happening lately including Hurricane Harvey that managed to ravage Houston last month and Hurricane Irma that is predicted to hit Florida this weekend. She called these two disasters nature’s fury during an interview with Britain’s Channel 4 during a press conference about her new movie called ‘mother!’.
‘It’s scary. It’s this new language that’s forming – I don’t even recognize,’ the actress stated.
‘It is scary to know; it has been proven through science, that climate change is due to human activity. And we continue to ignore it, and the only voice we have is through voting.’
When the interviewer stated that most Americans who voted for Donald Trump didn’t believe in climate change, Jennifer said the result was terrifying.
The actress explained, ‘You’re watching these hurricanes now, and it’s hard – especially while promoting this movie, not to feel Mother Nature’s rage and wrath.’
‘It’s polarizing and upsetting. I’ve heard things and seen things on TV in my own country that devastate and make me sick. It’s confusing,’ Jennifer confessed before she added what she thought about the President, ‘I don’t find him confusing; I think I know exactly what he is.’
Jennifer Lawrence has always been extremely open about her political concerns.
Back in 2015 when Donald Trump announced his candidacy for President, she told Entertainment Weekly something shocking.
‘If Donald Trump becomes president, that will be the end of the world. I genuinely believe that reality television has reached the ultimate place where now even things like this might just be for entertainment.’
Ther actress also wrote an essay after the business mogul won the election, ‘Do not let this defeat you – let this enrage you! Let it motivate you! Let this be the fire you didn’t have before. If you are an immigrant, if you are a person of color, if you are LGBTQ+, if you are a woman – don’t be afraid, be loud!’
